Pfizer Loses 3.7 Million in Lawsuit over Prempro

By Lane Lenard, PhD

It was inevitable that once recent scientific studies confirmed the dangers of conventional “hormone replacement therapy” (HRT) − Premarin® + Provera® and the combination of these drugs (Prempro®) − women who developed deadly conditions, such as breast cancer, heart disease, and strokes after using them to ease their transition through menopause, would begin to look for just compensation from their manufacturer Wyeth Pharmaceuticals. As occurred in recent years with the painkiller Vioxx® − shown to increase the risk of heart attacks − and its manufacturer Merck, the lawsuits against Wyeth (recently bought out by Big Pharma behemoth Pfizer), have begun piling up. According to one recent report, Wyeth/Pfizer is now fighting more than 9,000 lawsuits from women claiming these drugs were responsible for their endangering their lives. In one recently settled case, a jury decided the company should pay $3.7 million to a woman who developed breast cancer after Prempro use.

This is why women need to be taught about BHRT (bioidentical hormone therapy) and discover how it can change your life.
